India is huge country, a subcontinent with 1.2 billions inhabitants; the most popolous democracy in the world.
As everyone can imagine, ruling and leading such an enormous country is not easy at all. And sadly, one of the worst consequences everyone going to India can experience, is the incredible amount of trash everywhere.
In the Himalaya region, you can find mountains of any kind of trash, just next to the streets as well as next to the rivers, and, even worst, on the hills and escarpent: beside the very sad sight of the trash, it’s also becoming very dangerous for the health.
Because of the monsoon, the winds and human’s activity, the trash is polluting the soil and soon it will reach the ground water, with catastrophic consequences for people, animals and in general the earth.
It is very urgent to set up a programme to raise awareness about the impact that pollution can have on human’s health, as well as to organise a proper waste managenet system to solve this problem.
