The Dakota Access Pipeline is an oil pipeline project realized by Energy Transfer Partners in the USA which is currently completed under huge protests. The pipeline is supposed to transport fracked crude oil from North Dakota to southern Illinois.
Protesters emphasize the risk of oil spills that can lead to a contamination of drinking water and is a danger for the human health as well as the whole ecosystem.
300 Native American tribes supported the protest, so that one of the biggest gatherings of Native Americans in the last hundred years took place.
