Laguna Werde Nuclear Power Plant is located near Veracruz in Mexico. It is the only nuclear power plant in Mexico and produces 4.5% of the country’s ečectrical energy. It started operating in 1990 and it runs on low-enriched uranium. Laguna Verde has been considered a strategic facility for the Mexican National Power System.
