As the report „Boom and Bust 2017” conducted by Greenpeace and Sierra Club shows, the construction and use of coal-fired powerstations strongly decreased in 2016. In China public authorities stopped several constuructions projects because the demand of electricity by the industry was less than expected and because of the immense smog in the cities.
